Software Repairs

Sometimes software becomes corrupted and fails to function as expected or at all and the re-installation of the application does not resolve the problem.  The cause of the corruption may be power spikes or 'brown outs' or other external sources.  Other causes could be deletion of critical operating files for that application, or possibly early signs of imminent or premature hard drive failure.

Many  times simply re-installing the application will resolve the problem, but some times this may fail and require entry into the Windows operating system and the actual windows registry.  The registry is an area of the operating system that holds all the locations on the hard drive for your applications.  It is sort of like the index in a book.

The registry is an area of the operating system that is not for the faint of heart and should only be accessed by skilled users or  professional technicians. All residual references in the registry may be required to be manually removed to reinstall the application in question.

If your are experiencing problems with a application and cannot resolve it yourself, please contact us.  Please be aware that this type of repair can be time consuming to resolve, but generally can be done in approximately 1 to 2 hours.
